The Independent's Tool-box

By its very definition, independence allows individuals to adopt different strategies to achieve an objective - in this case becoming a Member of Parliament.

A true independent must not be beholden to any one interest group, ideology or organisation. So often the description 'independent' has been abused at a local, state and federal level, where 'dummy' or 'stooge' candidates run as independents with the objective of delivering preferences to another candidate, usually from a major party.

The Independent's Tool Box will enable you to check out the strategies you can employ as an independent, while retaining your true independence.

Your campaign tool-box should contain:

How to Nominate

Campaign Manager

Booth Captain

Campaign Material

Campaign Budget

How-to-Vote Card

Media

Election Returns & Disclosure Obligations
